Cromwell stayed here, though what or who he shot is not recorded. A beautiful Elizabethan Manor house is our base for the day, just west of Tetbury. The Ledgemore Bottom valley provides some very challenging drives from Cotswold banks and a testing woodland gulley that was recently compared to a Devon valley drive. A fine shoot lunch in the ballroom is hosted by the Lowsley-Williams family.

Kings Walden Bury is set in the rolling chalk land of Hertfordshire (Hitchin Hundred). It is the home of Sir Thomas Pilkington and family and was a former Royal hunting estate in the time of King Edward I. There is an existing private game shoot of some note and thus the terrain provides the opportunity to present down land and traditional partridge as well as high quality pheasants. We will have the option of using the shoot rooms or the house itself by prior arrangement otherwise catering may be in a local gastro pub. This gives many more options for our clients. Finally, it is very easily accessible from London by car and train (only 40 minutes from St Pancras).
