HULKENBERG CONTINUES HIS FORMULA ONE PREPARATIONS AT THE WEST LONDON SHOOTING SCHOOL

London, March 2, 2010. AT&T Williams team race driver, Nico Hulkenberg, continued his intensive pre-season preparations ahead of his Formula One debut in Bahrain next week with a session of hand-eye co-ordination as he practiced clay pigeon shooting under expert tuition at the world-renown West London Shooting School this morning.
Hulkenberg, consistent with many other Formula One drivers past and present, has an expressed interest in shooting and undertook the exercise as part of his mental and physical preparation which commenced in earnest last November with a winter training camp at the Aspire Academy for Sports Excellence in Doha followed by a climatic conditioning week in Langkawi, Malaysia. Since returning to Europe for pre-season testing, his regime has included many varied programmes to prepare him for his first Grand Prix on Sunday, March 14.
Under the tuition of Alan Rose, regarded as one of the country’s most experienced and capable shooting instructors, Nico enjoyed a morning of clay pigeon tuition. His programme was also filmed by BBC Formula One and will be broadcast as part of the sport’s domestic television coverage early in the 2010 season.
After an intensive session, Nico commented, “This has been one of the most enjoyable aspects of all of my pre-season preparation and certainly far preferable to the work-outs I was put through in 400 C ambient temperatures and 90% humidity in Malaysia! I found it to be a fascinating sport that requires intense concentration and mental discipline. By my own admission, I am a novice and need a lot of guidance to improve my abilities, but Alan was an excellent tutor, really first-class. The West London Shooting School is also an amazing venue, an oasis of rural calm despite being a stone’s throw from central London. I will certainly be back again.”
