The West London Shooting School was established in 1901 by the Richmond-Watson family. The school itself was initially located in Perivale and opened in response to the growth in popularity of both game shooting and clay pigeon shooting. In 1931, we moved to our current location in Northolt and throughout all our years have been instrumental in the development of clay pigeon shooting as a sport and a means of teaching shooting.
As the country’s oldest independent shooting school, we have been teaching shooting for over 100 years. Over these years there have been many great instructors who have taught at the school, the most famous of these being Percy Stanbury. ‘Stan’ is widely regarded as one of the finest shots to have ever lived (if not the finest) and it is his style of shooting and teaching that still forms the basis of all our tuition today.
Whilst we remain fiercely proud of our past and our heritage, our team of instructors led by Alan Rose is always looking to the future and to evolve both the facilities we provide and the services we offer. Whether it is for a shooting lesson, a corporate event, to make a purchase in our gun shop or for a meal in the restaurant, we trust you will enjoy visiting the country's 'ultimate shooting centre'.
