WLSS possesses a superb team of instructors with over
100 years of teaching experience between them.
Alan Rose (Senior Instructor): Alan is arguably the country's best and most famous shooting
instructor. He served an apprenticeship under Percy Stanbury
and he has been at the school for over 40 years. Alan is one
of the four instructors who do gun-fittings.
Mark Marshall: Mark is a highly
accomplished game and clay shot. In 2007 Mark the British
Open and achieved a life long dream of seeing his name
engraved on the same cup as the famous Percy Stanbury.
Prior to that In 2005 he qualified for
the final of the Beretta World Championships, whilst in 2004
Mark won AA class in The World Championships as well
as winning the European Side-by-Side Championships. He is also
one of the instructors who perform gun-fits. Mark also
provides instruction with Rifles on the Rifle Range
Tim Cole: One of our full-time
instructors, Tim is a talented game and clay shot. He has a
large and loyal client base that enjoys his lessons. As one
of the full-time team Tim is also available to do
Gun-Fittings. Tim forms part of the course design team
that set our now popular FITASC series
Pat Burridge: Well know to many of our West Oxford
Clients, we are delighted to announce that Pat is now part of
our full time here at WLSS. Pat has been shooting for
many years and has previously won County Titles, been a South
East Regional Team Member, Represented Buckinghamshire
County in Sporting and FITASC.
Jonathan Irby: As General Manager,
Jonathan is available for lessons on Wednesdays and
Saturdays (subject to his commitments to corporate clients).

and game shot he has Captained British and English
Police Teams, Captained Cheshire County at 7 different
disciplines, AA Ranked in all Disciplines and AAA in
Sporting)
- Dave Young (APSI qualified, Member of the
Police Shooting Team, Instructing for 4 years)
- Mark Swiers with over 15 years of instruction
experience, Mark is a keen Game and Clay shot
- Edward Watson (Former West London instructor and The Shooting Gazette's Dr. Watson)
- Willie Cole (Former West London instructor also returns to the school to teach for one day each month)
